The Jungle Book

After Pinocchio, Frankenstein, and The Vampyre, we are ready for a new chapter. For our third Kickstarter campaign, we chose to celebrate a timeless classic of world literature, one that continues to captivate readers across generations: The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling.

Illustrator

Brighe is a promising young Italian artist with considerable experience already behind her. Her distinctive portrayal of untouched nature immediately captivated us, making her a natural choice to illustrate our edition of The Jungle Book and bring a fresh perspective to the wild beauty of Kipling’s world.

Printing

The entire text will be printed by letterpress, while the illustrations will be reproduced as fine art giclée prints, preserving the tones and depth of the originals. The endpapers will be screen-printed by hand using natural pigments, creating a double-page composition through eight separate printing passes. We want to reclaim the tactile value of printing, an aspect of fundamental importance to us.

Binding

The book will be bound completely by hand.

Each individual phase requires the knowledge and skills of the most traditional bookbinding, from the stitching to the creation of the multi-colored headband, from the spine to the inlay work, using only materials of the highest quality to ensure the most precise workmanship.

Morning Bell

Morning Bell was born from our passion for literature and for books as objects in themselves, with the goal of creating prestigious, strictly limited editions of world literary classics, featuring the original language and illustrations by renowned artists.

The text of each volume is printed by letterpress, hand-bound, and finished by skilled artisans using the finest materials, uniting the traditions of letterpress printing and bookbinding with a contemporary graphic interpretation.
